On October 12th , 2021. within the process of subgranting local women’s organizations, WCSO Semper – Bitola organized a work meeting with the candidates for mayors and councilors in the Municipality of Bitola. The findings, conclusions and recommendations from the Assessment of the needs of women victims of violence who left the violent surroundings in Bitola and the surrounding settlements were presented at the meeting.
The findings show that economic dependence from the abuser and lack of housing are the main reasons why women do not leave the violent environment.
The recommendations clearly indicate the need for local services for the reintegration and rehabilitation of women victims who have survived some form of violence, especially in terms of housing, employment and financial support.
This activity was implemented within the project “Institutionalization of quality services for rehabilitation and integration of victims of violence” supported by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
