Today in Kavadarci we opened the first regional counseling center for help and support of women and children dealing with gender-based and family violence. The center was opened in partnership with the Association for Gender Equality “Vizia” from Kavadarci and with the financial support of the municipalities of the Vardar region: Kavadarci, Rosoman, Demir Kapija and Negotino. This is the first specialized counseling center for women and children victims of violence in the Tikvesh area, and the first regional counseling center that provides services to users from 4 municipalities.
The counseling center provides free and confidential help and support services to women and children dealing with any form of gender-based and domestic violence, regardless of whether the violence is occurring currently, or has happened in the past, but left consequences and challenges that women are currently dealing with. The center provides counseling for the exercise of social rights, psychological counseling and psychotherapy, legal aid and support, referral and affiliation to institutions and other organizations, as well as career counseling and mentoring support for economic empowerment.

The counseling center is called “Women’s Support Center – Kavadarci” and is the third such center within the National Network against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, after in 2021 Women’s centers were opened in Skopje and Tetovo.
