Supported housing for women victims of GBV and DV

In 2022 with support from the City of Skopje, we piloted the supported housing service for women victims of GBV and DV who left the violent environment in a new model, i.e. supported housing in individual residences. This model differs from the previous one, i.e. the House for Open Housing, where more women users receive housing in a community, i.e. a house with separate sleeping rooms, and common rooms for living, kitchen and bathroom. The model of supported housing in individual residences provides housing in separate residences that are rented, most often individual apartments. For the user and her children (if any) the costs of rent, overhead costs, as well as the costs of food and hygiene products are covered. In addition, within the Women’s Support Centers, beneficiaries receive all services such as social rights counseling, legal aid and support, escort, psychological counseling/psychotherapy and career counseling.

During 2022 supported housing is provided for 4 women and 9 children. Vouchers for food and hygiene products are provided for all of them.
