Training for service providers to support women and children

In Veles, we organized a 2-day training for service providers to support women and children who deal with gender based and domestic violence in our counseling centers, the Women’s Support Centers in Skopje, Tetovo, Bitola and Kavadarci.

Our teams from the Women’s Support centers strengthened their skills through practical exercises, going through the topics of:

  • Dealing with cases of gender-based violence and domestic violence;
  • Individual approach working with women victims;
  • Communication with service users;
  • Crisis intervention and crisis counseling.

Psychologists, social workers, and legal advisors from the Women’s Support centers had the opportunity to work on cases studies in groups and improve their skills in dealing with such cases, with the final goal of acquiring professional approach to service users.

In the next period, a cycle of several trainings will follow for all service providers from the Women’s Support Centers.

This project is financially supported by the Balkan Trust for Democracy, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
