Study visit to organizations and foundations in Belgrade – Exchange of experiences for support of women’s local organizations

In the period from 11th till 14th of October, the National Network team was on a study visit in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. The purpose of the study visit was to exchange experiences and knowledge through getting familiar of the work of other organizations and foundations from the region that provide financial support to local women’s organizations.

During the visit, we had meetings with Reconstruction Women’s Fund and Trag Foundation, who presented their programs that include provision of financial support to local women’s organizations. In addition to the purpose of the programs, they also familiarized us with the criteria for approving the support, that is, which organizations are eligible for the various programs they manage. The teams of both foundations shared with us the main challenges they face, as well as the ways they overcome them, especially in the context of monitoring the management and implementation of project activities, as well as financial reporting.

With Trag Foundation, we discussed and exchanged experiences about the functioning of their Donation Fund and our Women’s Intervention Fund, as well as the way of functioning of the online platform whose goal is to unify the women’s movement. From the study visit, we also saw how important the exchange of information is, especially using the digital tools available to us with modern technology.

This activity is supported by the Swedish Foundation Kvinna til Kviinna within the project “On the road to EU: Ending violence against women in Republic of North Macedonia” implemented by the National Network against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.
