In order to mark the beginning of the global campaign “16 days of activism against violence against women and girls”, the OSCE held a central event on November 24, 2024. The event was opened by the head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Kilian Wahl, who said:
“Violence against women and girls cannot be eradicated by legal remedies alone, nor by isolated awareness campaigns. Instead, we must all engage: institutions, emergency services, schools, parents, girls and boys, women and men from all communities as well as civil society,” said the Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Kilian Wahl.
The executive director of the National Network, Elena Dimushevska, was one of the speakers at the event, who also signed the “Declaration of Intentions”.
Among the signatories of the Declaration are prof. Dr. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, president of the Republic of North Macedonia, prof. Dr. Vesna Janevska, Minister of Education and Science, representatives of local schools, youth organizations and non-governmental organizations active in the fight to end violence against women.
By signing the Declaration, the crucial first step is taken. This declaration will be followed by concrete actions as we develop initiatives to strengthen individuals, schools, youth clubs, as well as a wide network of organizations and institutions to unite and act in the fight against violence.
