In December 2024, the first of the three trainings planned for the selected grantee organizations was held within the framework of the project “WE CARE: Together we stand against sexual and gender-based violence”, funded by the European Union.
Namely, as part of the activities to strengthen the capacities of local women’s civil society organizations, through a public call, 6 organizations were selected, which over the course of 18 months are supported with a grant for the implantation of individual projects. The selected organizations are: Association of Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Counselors “CORTEX” Tetovo; Center for Equal Opportunities “Bubamara” – Gostivar; Rural Coalition – Kichevo; Association for Development and Activism “AKVA” – Struga; Sport Social Solutions, and Association for Legal Education and Transparency Stanica PET – Prilep.
In order to improve the knowledge and skills of the organizations, the first training was on the topic: Project Management, Finance and Administrative Operations, and it lasted 3 days, i.e. 16, 17 and 18 December. The training was attended by representatives from all grantee organizations who, together with the National Network team, worked on how to most successfully implement their projects at the local level, in order to have a significant impact in these local communities.
Additional trainings are also planned for these organizations within the framework of the project, which will be organized at the beginning of 2025, and relate to advocacy skills and in-depth knowledge about gender-based and sexual violence.
