To provide a safe and nurturing environment for personal and career development among women, the Women’s Support Center – Skopje organized a series of free workshops. These workshops were tailored for women and girls seeking to advance in their careers and acquire new skills for success and resilience in modern times. Almost every Saturday from October to December, groups of 10-15 young women and girls spent six hours together in the social space “Komitet,” guided by career counselor Katerina Zlatanovska Popova from the Women’s Support Center – Skopje. The workshops covered the following topics:
- The Art of Effective Communication (October 21, 2023)
At the outset, participants delved into strategies to boost confidence in self-expression and foster effective collaboration in personal and professional settings.
- Conflict Resolution (November 4, 2023)
The second workshop centered on exploring various techniques for managing conflicts, fostering understanding, and building harmonious relationships.
- The Power of Female Leadership (November 11, 2023)
This session celebrated the potential of women’s leadership in driving societal transformation, drawing inspiration from remarkable female leaders and offering practical strategies for assuming leadership roles.
- Strengthening Resilience: Practical Tips for Coping with Stress, Change, and Everyday Decisions (November 18, 2023)
Participants were equipped with practical tips and strategies to bolster resilience in the face of stress, navigating change, and making everyday decisions through engaging exercises.
- Experiential Learning: The Digital Tools Everyone is Talking about – Canva, ChatGPT & Google Apps (November 25, 2023)
The fifth workshop introduced participants to essential digital tools crucial for contemporary jobs, allowing them to work on individual projects and explore innovative applications of Canva, ChatGPT, and Google Apps.
- Essential Steps in Job Hunting: Making the Right Choices, Crafting Your CV, and Preparing for Interviews (December 2, 2023)
This workshop provided invaluable insights into crafting effective resumes (CVs) and building confidence for job interviews, empowering participants to navigate the job market with ease.
- Business Anchored in Values – Social Entrepreneurship for Beginners (December 16, 2023)
The final workshop introduced the concept of social entrepreneurship, viewing business as a catalyst for positive societal change. Participants explored generating business ideas, developing business plans, and accessing funding opportunities in this field.
These workshops are part of the project “Counseling Centers for Women and Children Victims of Gender-Based and Domestic Violence,” financially supported by the City of Skopje and implemented by the National Network to End Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. In total, 63 different women and girls participated in these workshops, benefiting from the comprehensive training provided.
