Workshop on gender-based violence and professional standards for journalistic reporting

A workshop on “Gender-based violence and professional standards for journalistic reporting” was organized by the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, in cooperation with  Coalition Margins and the National Network to End Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence.

The executive director of Coalition Margins, Dr. Irena Cvetkovic, spoke about the intersectional approach in treating gender-based violence, the legal adviser from the National Network to End Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, Ana Avramoska Nushkova, presented the existing national legislation and the system of protection of women and girl victims of gender-based violence and domestic violence. Media expert, Dr. Marina Tuneva, presented the Manual for gender-sensitive reporting in the media, while the assistant head of the Department for Program Affairs at AVMU, M.Sc. Emilia Petresca-Kamenjarova, referred to the AVMU Guide for monitoring of gender-sensitive reporting of violence.

This workshop was intended for journalists and was attended by representatives from national radio and television stations.
