For the second year in a row, Halkbank directly donated all the funds collected from the sales exhibition and online sale of “Dresses with Pockets 2.0”, which took place through the digital edition of portrait magazine – portret.digital. The collected funds go to the Women’s Intervention Fund to support all women who have faced some kind of domestic violence or violence against women, in cooperation with the National Network to End Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.
Through the sale of the creations – donations from the famous Macedonian designers Jovana Filipović, Irina Tosheva, Natalija Terzia and the designer Marjan Bebekoski – 118,600 denars were collected, which Halkbank will direct to the financial and economic independence of women.
The intervention fund is the first fund intended for material and advisory assistance to women victims of violence who want to leave or have left a violent environment. Halkbank’s direct monetary donation will be intended for interventional assistance in: costs of medical interventions and examinations, food and hygiene, legal services for women in need of legal assistance, as well as for their children, but also for any other material costs that a woman can have them in the process of leaving a violent environment.
“As we announced last year, we are continuing this year, for the second year in a row, to provide continuous and dedicated support to all women who need help. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who took time and money to get involved in FSJ’s new humanitarian action, through which together we contribute financial support to those who need it most. This donation represents another small victory won in our fight to increase the financial freedom, education and power of women in the country”, said Maja Naumovska Saveska, director of corporate and marketing communications at Halkbank.
“In 2017, we established the Women’s Intervention Fund in order to provide financial support, which is crucial for women who want to leave a violent environment. The fund is financed exclusively through donations from individuals and legal entities, who will recognize its importance. We are especially grateful to Halkbank for recognizing the essential importance of this help for women facing violence this year. For the second year now, we have received their support, which allows us to successfully continue our mission – providing full assistance and support to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The partnership with Halkbank is of crucial importance for us, as it allows us not only to continue, but also to expand our activities, ensuring long-term stability and greater security for the most vulnerable. Thanks to this cooperation, women get a chance for a new beginning and a better future,” said Ana Avramoska Nushkova, project coordinator in the National Network against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.
With this donation, Halkbank has successfully rounded off the activities that are part of the “Dresses with Pockets 2.0” platform for this year, where women’s independence and financial equality take center stage.
