From 17 to 19 June 2025, the third training from the capacity-building cycle for local member organizations of the Network and sub-grantees was held at Hotel Keta in Mavrovo, titled “Advocacy for the Prevention and Protection from Gender-Based Violence and Addressing the Backlash Against Gender Equality and the Rights of the LGBTI Community.”

The training was designed for representatives of local civil society organizations working on the prevention of and protection from gender-based violence, with the aim of strengthening their knowledge and advocacy skills at the local level.

The three-day training was facilitated by Ana Avramoska Nushkova and Elena Dimushevska, and covered the following topics:

  • basics and types of advocacy,
  • the policy-making process,
  • developing an advocacy plan,
  • preparing advocacy tools, and
  • communication with the public and target groups.

The training gathered 16 representatives from 7 organizations:
Association of Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Counselors “KORTEX” – Tetovo, Center for Equal Opportunities “Bubamara” – Gostivar, Rural Coalition – Kichevo, AKVA – Struga, Station PET – Prilep, Humanitarian Association Majka – Kumanovo, and the Initiative for Women’s Rights from Shuto Orizari.
