MYLA - Free Legal Aid
The Macedonian Association of Young Lawyers – MYLA Skopje provides free legal aid as part of the organization’s key activities.
Legal aid is provided in individual cases that are directly related to the protection of human rights, the rule of law and the development of civil society.
Observed individually, the MYLA provides legal aid in the following cases and forms:
- Preliminary legal aid in accordance with the Law on Free Legal Aid, which is intended for poor and other vulnerable categories of citizens and includes only information, counseling, guidance and assistance in submitting requests for free legal aid;
- Legal advice and strategic representation in cases of violations of constitutionally guaranteed human rights and discrimination;
- Legal advice and strategic representation in the field of asylum, migration, integration, as well as access to personal documents and citizenship and
- Legal support to civil society organizations and informal citizen initiatives that are unable to secure legal assistance elsewhere on issues related to: internal organization, compliance with legal provisions, as well as the needs of implementing activities and initiatives where they require legal knowledge.
